Marshall Theatre: Circle Mirror Transformation
(Theatre)

The Linfield Theatre Program's 97th season of plays at Linfield and 14th season in the Marshall Theatre continues in March. Alumna Stephanie Mulligan ('13) will direct Annie Baker's 2009 Obie award-winning play "Circle Mirror Transformation." Performance dates are March 15, 16, 17, & 18 at 7:30 p.m.

When four lost New Englanders who enroll in Marty's community-center drama class begin to experiment with harmless theatre games, hearts are quietly torn apart, and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. The eclectic assortment of characters include Marty, the teacher, James, her husband, Schultz, a recently divorced carpenter, Lauren, a reticent high schooler, and Teresa, a former actress. A beautifully crafted diorama, a petri dish in which we see, with hilarious detail and clarity, the antic sadness of a motley quintet.

"...absorbing, unblinking, and sharply funny." - New York Times
"Reverberates with seduction and sorrow...the play's final scene is devastatingly gentle." - Village Voice.

3/15 Behind The Scenes: Please join us after the opening night performance for a short Question & Answer discussion with the designers and director as they share their ideas in creating this production.
