Linfield Tennis Camp

Description:
This tennis camp is limited to 24 Tournament Players and College Bound Players ages 12-18. This camp is intended for intermediate to advanced players and the student to Coach ratio will be 4:1.
The cost of the camp includes all meals and admission to the Evergreen Waterpark and the Wilsonville Fun Center.
Camp Staff: Carl Swanson and Toby Krauel plus current college players at University of Portland, Gonzaga University, and Linfield College.
CARL SWANSON: Success on the tennis court is a recurrent theme in Coach Carl Swanson’s coaching and playing career. Swanson is in his 13th year as head coach of the Linfield men’s tennis team and serves as director of the men’s and women’s tennis programs.
In his 15 years as a collegiate tennis coach, Coach Swanson has been honored as Coach of the Year in the NWC seven times and his teams have won 11 conference championships. Since 1999, Coach Swanson led teams have over 300 collegiate victories and he has coached over 40 All-NWC players, and multiple All-Americans, Players of the Year, ITA Champions, Sportsman of the Year, and Academic All-Americans.
Swanson is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law and is a licensed attorney in the State of Oregon. At Linfield, Coach Swanson works in the Department of Student Affairs where he serves as a Conduct and Community Standards Officer.
TOBY KRAUEL: Along with being an excellent pro for at the West Hills Racquet Club in Portland, OR Toby Krauel was the head men’s coach at Willamette University and the head coach at Gonzaga University and was an assistant coach at the University of Portland.
Krauel graduated from the University of Portland in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He also holds a law degree at Lewis & Clark College. He played tennis as an undergraduate and achieved the West Coach Conference Scholar-Athlete Award in 1988-89 and 1989-90. He was Portland’s Most Inspirational Tennis Player three times.
As a coach at Willamete, Gonzaga, and the University of Portland, he built competitive teams that finished at the top of their conferences and he developed numerous all-conference players that achieved high regional and national rankings.

Linfield boasts some of the best athletic facilities on the West Coast for a college of its size. Completed in 1989, this state-of-the-art athletic facility contains spacious locker rooms, offices and classrooms, a fully equipped athletic training room and ample display areas that house many trophies and recognitions of past Linfield teams and athletes.
