High-Five Basketball Camp

Three Ways to Attend 

Registration begins at 1pm on Sunday of each camp session. The gym opens @ 8am Monday thru Thursday. Camp ends at 12noon on Thursday, preceded by an awards ceremony that begins at 11:30am. 

Session I: June 19—23 $150.00 

Sunday: 1pm to 4pm; Monday thru Thursday 9:00am to 12 noon; no full day or overnight option with this session. 

Session II: July 10—14 

Camp begins at 1:00pm on Sunday. 

Full Day Option: $325.00 

9:00 am to 5:00pm with lunch provided. 

Overnight Option: $480.00 

Includes staying overnight in the dorms with all meals provided while attending.

Camp Overview:

High Five Basketball Camp is a fundamental camp where athletes are taught to think the game. The class-room sessions are designed to help athletes with indi-vidual improvement but also be give them knowledge to help shape practices and drills and effect the way their teammates play. 

Camp Features:

- High Five Camp is held in the Ted Wilson Gymna-sium at Linfield College. This complex includes 3 full court and 6 half court gyms, a fully equipped weight room, therapy pool and locker room 

facilities. 

- Campers will have an opportunity to go swim-ming, so bring your swimsuit and take advantage of our 8-lane swimming pool. 

Directors: Larry Doty

Larry Doty is in his 24th season as head coach of the Linfield men's basketball program.
A former standout under Hall of Fame coach Ted Wilson, Doty was recognized as Northwest Conference Coach of the Year in 1998-99 and again in 2000-01. His career record of 312-290 is 12 wins behind Wilson on Linfield's all-time coaching victories list.
Coach DotyDuring the 1998-99 season, Doty guided Linfield to a 20-5 record and the college's first Northwest Conference championship in 21 years. He again led the Wildcats to the NWC title in 2000-01 when Linfield finished 21-6 and qualified for the national playoffs for the first time since 1976.

Doty received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Linfield in 1978, followed by a master's degree in 1979. He is an assistant professor of physical education.

He was a three-sport athlete who excelled at football, basketball and baseball. Playing under Wilson, Doty earned all-Northwest Conference honors and was voted the Wildcats' best defensive player his senior year. On the football field, Doty was an NAIA All-America receiver for another Hall of Fame coach, Ad Rutschman. He still holds numerous Linfield receiving records.

Doty began his coaching career at McMinnville High School while still at student at Linfield, then later assisted with football, basketball and baseball at Hillsboro High School. In 1982, Doty was hired as boys basketball at West Linn High School where he posted a four-year record of 50-43 and guided the Lions to fourth place at the Class 4A state tournament.

Larry and his wife, Devri, live in McMinnville. Their son, Dominic, is head women's soccer coach and assistant men's basketball coach at Linfield. The Doty's twin daughters, MacKenzie and Rennika, are both senior student-athletes at Linfield.

Larry has been running his own summer basketball camp since 1983 and is an outstanding clinician and inspiring speaker. Coach Doty’s program is known for their fast break style, frenetic pace, defensive intensity and hustle.

Other Information:

If your child is attending camp as a day camper, (9am-8pm) lunch and dinner will be provided. If your child is an overnighter, campers will be housed with a chaperon in a dorm on the Linfield Campus with all meals provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner), in addition to a pizza/watermelon feed. Overnight campers will need to bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, towels, personal toiletries, athletic gear, swimming suit, healthy snacks and spending money for chaperoned outings to local convenience store.
