Trever '00 and Michelle (Mallory) Phillips '01

In the fall of 1999, I returned to Linfield as a Junior accounting major; and I began my year as a Resident Advisor in Grover Hall. During Resident Advisor training, Linfield had a motivational speaker talk to our group. During his presentation, he asked us to look around the room and then explained that some of us would actually marry each other. Apparently, it is fairly common for RAs to date other RAs. I looked around the room and thought NOT ME!

Little did I know; my future husband was indeed sitting in that room. As RAs, we spent a lot of time together as a group and often dined together in Dillon. A Senior RA in Whitman Hall, Trevor Phillips, was often in the group and I thought his jokes were hilarious even when nobody else laughed. By Spring semester we were dating and thus began our journey together.

Thirteen years later, we have two wonderful children and I’m still laughing at Trevor’s dinner-time jokes. Linfield will always hold a special place in our hearts.
