What are you doing now?
I'm a Director of Sellwood Consulting LLC, an investment consulting firm in Portland that I co-founded in 2012.
Tell us about yourself.
I'm 33 years old and live with my family in Tigard. My husband Jon and I were high school sweethearts, dating throughout the time I was at Linfield (while he attended Western Oregon University) and married in 2003. He is a police officer with the City of Tigard. We have two beautiful children -- a 5 year-old daughter London and a 2 year-old son Baylor -- and two dogs Macy and Maddie.
I was a Finance and Mathematics double major at Linfield and also played basketball for the Wildcats. During my senior year I got an internship at R.V. Kuhns & Associates, an investment consulting firm in Portland. I was hired on after graduation and worked there for just over a decade, moving up through the ranks from investment analyst to become a Consultant and Shareholder of the firm. In August 2012, I departed with three of my valued colleagues to form a new firm, Sellwood Consulting. At Sellwood we provide investment advice to mid-size institutional clients such as endowments, foundations and retirement plans. I enjoy the challenge of my job, the wonderful clients I work with, and the work/life balance my new firm provides me.
How did Linfield help prepare you for your career?
The Linfield experience was a critical factor in my career success. The education I received and the amazing professors, such as Scott Chambers and Stephen Bricher, who I had the opportunity to learn from made all the difference. They challenged me as a student, supported me as a student athlete, and guided me in my career path. Going to Linfield was the best investment I ever made.
