Tell us about yourself.
I'm a mom of two boys (Matt is a sophomore at Linfield!) and wife to a fellow 1989 Linfield alumni. I work full time for the Hillsboro Schools Foundation raising private dollars to fund innovative education programs in our district. I am also currently serving my second four-year term as a City Councilor in Hillsboro and have been the Council President for four and a half years. I love our community and am blessed with the opportunities to serve in many different ways.

How did Linfield help prepare you for your career?
Linfield has helped me by providing a well rounded education filled with opportunity. 

I learned to evaluate what types of jobs I would be interested in during a class that used the book "what color is your parachute" and I was able to conduct some informational interviews to discover what I liked. 

I learned to think with the 'right side' of my brain in classes about world religions and music.

I learned about communication and rhetoric in the business world and politics from Brenda Marshall's classes. I still read books to improve myself on these things.

It took me a long time to build up a resume but I believe that Linfield's courses led me to find the wonderful opportunity I have now.
