
Graduates honored at commencement
Some 660 Linfield College seniors are expected at this year's commencement ceremony, Sunday, June 2, at 10 a.m. in the Oak Grove. Theresa (Stichick) Betancourt '91 will deliver the commencement address. Golden Grads, individuals who graduated 50 or more years ago, will also march, some with their children or grandchildren. Following commencement, the Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Ted Wilson Gymnasium. Baccalaureate will kick off Saturday, June 1, at 5 p.m. in the Ted Wilson Gymnasium, featuring Charles Walker, Linfield president emeritus. Later that evening, graduating seniors and their families will be honored during Grad Finale at 6:30 p.m. in Dillin Hall. Find more commencement information online.
Two Fulbright winners ready to teach abroad
Two Linfield College Wildcats – one a graduating senior and the other an alumnus – will spend next year abroad after being selected for awards through the Fulbright Program. Gabrielle Nygaard '13 (left) of Forest Grove, a mass communications major who will graduate June 2, will participate in a homestay and teach English at a secondary public school in South Korea. Keith Welch '12, who earned a degree in German and International Relations, will be a teaching assistant in a German secondary school. Congratulations!
Students say 'Thanks!'
The Student Alumni Association recently celebrated Tuition Free Day, which symbolizes the point in the school year when tuition and fees "run out" and gifts from generous donors kick in to support the remainder of the school year. Look out job market, here come our grads
Linfield graduates heading into the work force got an extra boost from two recent campus events. Seniors were invited to network with alumni during the annual "Life After Linfield" dinner in April and they took part in a job search seminar hosted by Career Development in early May. Many of the graduates from the Class of 2013 will be moving to new or familiar cities along the west coast, and they could use your help! Welcome to the Alumni parties will be held on Sunday, June 30, in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Salem and Bend. The parties are open to all alumni, including the Class of 2013. Baseball advances to regionals
Three weeks after clinching the Northwest Conference title and automatic postseason berth, top-ranked Linfield College prepares to compete in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. The Wildcats, top seed in the regional tournament, take on sixth-seeded Texas Lutheran today, May 15, at noon central time. Read more and watch it live.

Make connections with alumni of all ages at the next Linfield Professionals Network event Thursday, May 9, at Peak Condition in northeast Portland. Linfield Professionals Network is a great way to create new business contacts, find new clients, connect with fellow alumni and even land a job. Wildcat Open features new venue
Join Linfield Wildcats and friends on the course for a day of fun, food, friendship and golf during the 2013 Wildcat Open on Friday, July 12, at 1 p.m. at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha. A fresh venue, new approach and increased amenities including two championship courses highlight the event. Golfers can build their own team of four players or be assigned to a group. Lunch, drinks and dinner are provided, as well as range balls, motorized cart, prize bag and a few surprises. The cost is $200 per player. Sign up your team today.
