Jones to lead wine education program
Gregory V. Jones, known globally as one of the preeminent wine climatologists, has been named director of wine education at Linfield College. Jones is a research climatologist who focuses on how terroir influences wine production. “He has earned an international reputation for his research on wine, climate and the environment; I think he’s a perfect fit for Linfield,” said Linfield President Thomas L. Celebrate our Alumni Award recipients
Linfield will honor five people with Alumni Awards during Homecoming Weekend, Friday, Sept. 29. Debbie Day will receive the Walker Service Award; Eric and Robin (Burmeister) Nichols ’81 and ’82 will receive the Alumni Service Award; Seth Pricket ’05 will receive the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award; and the Distinguished Alumna of the Year honor will be posthumously presented to Brittany Baguley ’00. Also that day, Baguley’s husband, Jeff ’00, and Prickett will give presentations. Read more about the award recipients.

Nursing professor shares story as first-generation student
The experience of working in a nursing home was the inspiration Jackie Webb, associate professor of nursing, needed to become a nurse. Webb shared her journey to success in nursing and the struggles she faced as a first-generation college student with Minority Nurse.
Visit Linfield as part of Oregon Private College Week
Linfield College is hosting a series of campus tours and information sessions for prospective students and their families to celebrate Oregon Private College Week, held July 24-28. Students who register in advance and visit at least four institutions during the week will receive application fee waivers. Students may use these fee waivers to apply to any Alliance member college or university. Learn more.
