Interns get inside look at D.C. political world

Summer internships are an important part of a student's academic career and two Linfield students are receiving unique experiences in Washington, D.C. this summer. Giselle Naranjo-Cruz '17 is interning as part of the Verdell A. Burdine and Otto G. Rutherford Summer Congressional Internship working for Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley. "My passion has always been to help people, and I believe that I can make the greatest impact via politics," said Naranjo-Cruz. Sara Gomez '17 is one of only 34 students selected nationwide for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's (CHCI) 2016 Congressional Internship. "I am hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the legislative process and to broaden my professional network," said Gomez. Read more about Naranjo-Cruz and Gomez.

The same www, only better

The Linfield website has a new look, thanks to a recent web refresh. Some of the changes help focus messages to prospective students and their interests. We also improved navigation around the website, especially from the home page. All pages of the website now scale to a variety of devices including phones, notebooks and laptops. Additional subtle changes will take place in the coming months. See it for yourself, and if you know of students considering Linfield, have them take a look, too!

Get your plate before it's too late

Want to make your car or truck the envy of the neighborhood? Order your Linfield Wildcat affinity plate at your local Oregon DMV office. The purple block featuring the red Wildcat is a great way to let others know you are a Linfield fan. These plates, available for a limited time, are a great way to support Linfield and to display Wildcat pride.

Linfield celebrates Oregon Private College Week

Linfield College will host a series of campus tours and information sessions for prospective students and their families in honor of Oregon Private College Week July 25-29. Students who register in advance and visit at least four institutions during the week will receive application fee waivers. Students may use these fee waivers to apply to any Alliance member college or university. Learn more.

What are our Wildcats up to these days?

Linfield alumni use their liberal arts education in a variety of professions. Barry Spiering '99, pictured left, took his business finance degree and became, as he calls it, a "corporate scientist" for Nike. Brenna Patterson '12 uses skills gained from her study abroad experience in her current role at Ponzi Vineyards. Take a look at Barry, Brenna and all of our recent alumni profiles.
