Transfer Students
Welcome to Linfield College! Transferring to a new college can be exciting and challenging. You've already have experience in college and realize that there are many facets to being a college student. At Linfield you'll have opportunities for academic and intellectual growth, social life on campus, co-curricular activities, and much more. Whatever your previous college experience, the Office of Academic Advising can help you explore what it means to be a student at Linfield College and succeed academically.
Orientation and Fall Connections
While you already know what it is like to be a college student, you've never been a student at Linfield before. You may find the environment different from that of your previous school. You may find that professors have increased academic expectations and that there are different academic, co-curricular and social opportunities. These changes and this transition can be difficult. For that reason, we encourage you to participate in Fall Connections, a program designed to ease your transition to Linfield.
Fall Connections will introduce you to the Linfield College community and to other new transfer students. The program will teach you what you need to know as a Linfield student, including how academic advising works, how to navigate the Linfield system, and how to get involved on campus.
Advising and Registration
As a transfer student, you will be assigned to an appropriate faculty advisor (usually the department chairperson in your major field). If you enter the college undecided you will be assigned a faculty advisor who will help you explore your academic options and select classes.

To declare or change your major, you will be expected to follow the guidelines for declaration of major and changing advisors described in the Academic Policies.
