GUIDELINES FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

FALL SEMESTER

  • Enroll in prerequisite courses
    • MATH 170 Calculus I or Math 150 Pre-calculus
    • PSYC 101 Survey of Psych
  • Enroll in Exercise Science major science course (if you have a strong background in math and sciences)
    • BIOL 210 Principles of Biology  or
    • CHEM 210 General Chemistry or
    • PHYS 210 Introduction to Mechanics (requires completion or concurrent enrollment of Calculus I)
  • Enroll in an INQS (this may be completed in Jan Term or Spring)
  • Fill your schedule with courses for the Linfield Curriculum requirements and/or a second major (if you have one) or minor courses

JAN TERM (not required)

  • Enroll in one of the following courses
    • MATH 140 Statistics (especially if considering PT school or nursing)
    • PSYC 101
    • LC (VP, UQ or CS)

SPRING SEMESTER:

  • Enroll in one prerequisite courses
    • PSYC 101
    • MATH 170 Calculus I (if not completed in the Fall)
    • BIOL 212 Human Anatomy (Strong students only)
  • Enroll in exercise science major course
    • BIOL 211 Principles of Biology or
    • CHEM 211 General Chemistry
    • PHYS 211 Introduction to Electromagnestism (those considering PT school)
    • HHPA 280 Nutrition
  • Enroll in an INQS if not completed in Fall or Jan Term
  • Fill your schedule with courses for the Linfield Curriculum requirements and/or a second major (if you have one) 

OTHER MAJOR/MINOR SPECIFIC ADVISING INFORMATION

  • If time permits in your schedule consider taking a paracurricular course
  • If you are unable to get into a science class in the fall, complete your INQS, math and LCs, and take BIOL 212 Anatomy in the Spring
  • If you are considering PT school- consider enrolling in HHPA 184 and MATH 140 Statistics.
