Driving & Parking Directions

Directions:

Tours depart from the Michelbook House, located at 450 SW Linfield Avenue, McMinnville, OR 97128.

If traveling from colleges north of Linfield, we recommend you allow the following time:
Newberg: 30 minutes
Forest Grove: 45 minutes
Portland: 1 hour, 30 minutes

If traveling from colleges south of Linfield, we recommend you allow the following time:
Monmouth: 40 minutes
Salem: 50 minutes
Corvallis: 1 hour
Eugene: 2 hours

Please note, due to ocean beach traffic, travel to McMinnville can take longer than expected (especially, on Thursday and Friday afternoons). We recommend planning for more than the traditional 90 minute travel time, or consider alternative routing.

Via I-5 south from Portland:

• Take I-5 South to Exit 289 (Nyberg Rd/Tualatin-Sherwood Rd).
• Turn right (west) onto Nyberg Road, which becomes Tualatin-Sherwood Road.
• Keep going, through the city of Tualatin, until you reach the town of Sherwood (about five miles).
• In Sherwood, immediately past the Albertson’s shopping complex, turn left onto Oregon Highway 99W South.
• Stay on Highway 99W South for approximately 22 miles – through the communities of Newberg, Dundee and Lafayette. Then you’ll enter McMinnville on the northeast end of town.
• Stay on Highway 99W South (Baker Street) through McMinnville. After about three miles, the Linfield campus is on the left.
• Turn left at Fellows Street and take an immediate right (on Blaine Street) before passing the Linfield College sign.
• The Office of Admission (in the Michelbook House) will be at the end of Blaine Street at Linfield Avenue.

Via I-5 north from Salem:

• From I-5 North, take Exit 253 (North Santiam Hwy) and go west into Salem.
• Follow the signs for Oregon Highway 22 about 10 miles to the traffic light at the junction with Oregon Highway 99W.
• Turn right onto Highway 99W and travel north approximately 20 miles to McMinnville.
• In McMinnville, continue to the traffic light at Fellows Street. Turn right and take an immediate right (on Blaine Street) before passing the Linfield College sign.
• The Office of Admission (in the Michelbook House) will be at the end of Blaine Street at Linfield Avenue.

Alternative Routing from Portland:

• Take I-5 South to Exit 278 (Donald/Aurora).
• Turn right (west) onto Ehlen Rd NE.
• At the end of Ehlen Rd NE, turn right onto OR-219 North (toward Champoeg and Newberg).
• Continue on OR-219 North into Newberg, turning right on Villa Rd.
• Turn left onto 99W South (toward City Center and McMinnville).
• Turn right onto OR-240 West/N Main Street and continue to follow OR-240 West for six miles.
• Turn left onto NE Carlton-Chehalem Creek Rd/NE Kuehne Rd (toward Lafayette and Carlton).
• At the stop light in Carlton, turn left onto OR-47 South (toward McMinnville). Continue for four miles.
• Turn right onto OR-99W South. Continue through McMinnville to the traffic light at Fellows Street (about three miles).
• Turn right and take an immediate right (on Blaine Street) before passing the Linfield College sign.
• The Office of Admission (in the Michelbook House) will be at the end of Blaine Street at Linfield Avenue.

Parking:

Visitors are welcome to park anywhere on campus. There’s a small visitors’ lot right next to the Michelbook House and a larger lot directly across the street. No parking permits are required on campus – and parking is free.
