Planning Your Visit

We welcome visitors throughout the year and hope you can find a time convenient for your schedule.

During the academic year (September through May), the Office of Admission is open:
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On Saturdays, current Linfield students lead campus tours at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and are available to answer general questions. If you are interested in meeting with an admission counselor, sitting in on a class, or visiting with a professor, please visit campus Monday through Friday.

In June, July and August, the Office of Admission is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Linfield College is closed December 25-January 1 for winter break and in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day. If you will be in the area from out-of-state and wish to tour campus, please contact the Office of Admission at 800.640.2287 to request a visit.  As our students, faculty and staff are away from campus for the holidays, most of our buildings will be closed, so a tour during this time would not give a good view of campus.  However, if you are travelling from a distance and this is your only opportunity to visit Linfield, we will try to accommodate your request.

While almost any day is open for a visit, there are a few days you may want to avoid during the 2012-2013 school year:

  • August 23-September 7 (New Student Orientation and the beginning of fall classes)
  • November 17-25 (Thanksgiving Break)
  • December 7-13 (Fall final exams)
  • December 25 (The College is closed for Christmas)
  • December 26-January 1 (The College is closed for Winter Break)
  • February 11-15 (First week of spring semester)
  • March 23-31 (Spring Break)
  • May 23-June 2 (Spring final exams and Commencement weekend)

Before you plan your campus visit, it is important to consider what you would like to do in order to make the most of your visit. Please do note that certain options are limited to the academic year when classes are in session.

To allow time for our visit staff to coordinate your requests, please schedule your campus visit at least two weeks in advance. Also note that holidays and “no school” days are usually quite busy. Please be prepared to be a part of a larger group presentation, rather than a personal appointment.
