As the Office of Admission prepares for your arrival to campus, there are some things you can begin to think about to help make the most out of your visit.

Each person you encounter during your visit will probably ask you questions. Some you will anticipate and others may catch you off guard. Keep in mind that the person asking is trying to get to know you and your interests better.
You may have questions for an admission counselor, faculty member, athletic coach or current student. These may be as general as asking about the admission process or something specific about an academic department. Below is a list of questions that you may want to think about asking during your visit to Linfield’s campus.
Questions for your admission counselor
- When are the application deadlines for admission?
- What is required for the application?
- What qualities does Linfield look for in an admission candidate?
- Are there specific financial aid deadlines or paperwork?
- Can you tell me about the unique features of Linfield?
Questions for faculty
- How many students are in the department?
- What kinds of students do well in the department?
- What are specific graduation requirements for students in the major?
- What are the internships or research projects that students are able to participate in?
- What are graduate programs that students have applied to? What kinds of jobs have recent graduates found?
Questions for athletic coaches
- What is the tryout process?
- If I do not make the team my first year, can I try-out again?
- How many hours a day does the team practice?
- How do student-athletes balance studying with athletic commitments?

- Why did you choose Linfield College?
- What is your favorite meal at Dillin (the dining hall)?
- Can you tell me about your weekly schedule?
- How do you normally study for classes? In groups or individually?
- What campus programs or activities have you gotten involved with?
- What do you do on the weekends?
- What is it like to live in a residence hall and how has impacted your college experience?

There are many things that you can explore on your own during your visit to Linfield. Check out the art galleries in Miller Fine Arts or see the exhibit in the student anthropology museum. Grab a coffee from O’Riley’s and sit outside by the fountain. Cheer on the Linfield Wildcats and watch an athletic event.
