Application Information
AP, IB and other types of College Credit
Students will qualify as a transfer student if they are a former or current college student with at least 12 transferable semester credits from another accredited college or university. Running Start students and other dual-enrolled high school students are considered Freshmen applicants.
Advanced Placement
Linfield will grant up to 5 elective credits for Advanced Placement scores of 4 or 5 in academic areas normally taught at Linfield. Evaluations for credit are done on a course-by-course basis. Credit given is comparable to the amount of credits the course is given for at Linfield. For example, AP American History would be granted 5 credits because the Survey of US History at Linfield is 5 credits.
International Baccalaureate
Linfield recognizes the International Baccalaureate Diploma and subject examinations and awards credit on a course-by-course basis for higher level courses passed with a grade of 5, 6, or 7.
Running Start

Linfield will review credits earned through Running Start or a similar dual enrollment program on a course-by-course basis. Generally courses taken with a “C” or better, over the 100-level (Math 095 accepted) and academic in nature will transfer for some type of credit. Since Linfield operates on a semester system, to accurately reflect the amount of work that was done for a class, we will evaluate classes on a Semester/Quarter-Hour Conversion.
