Upward Bound

image of location

This building at 416 Linfield Avenue is the home of Upward Bound, a federal grant program administered through the U.S. Department of Education. It serves low-income high school students in Yamhill County who will be the first in their families to attend college. The program provides tutoring in high school and a six-week summer residential experience at Linfield during which the students take Upward Bound classes, do community service, and enjoy recreational activities. Linfield students are used as tutors, counselors, and interns in the program.
