Linfield Spring Photo Contest
Do you have some amazing college photos that you’d like to share with the world? Ever thought that you should be rewarded for that crazy photo you took of your roommates during that 2 A.M. Muchas run? Well now you can! The Office of Admission is proud to announce their first Spring Photo Contest! Now is your chance to cash in (up to $35) on some of your favorite college memories.
Photos will be judged in the following four categories with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards within each category:
- Dorm Room shots-- pictures of students hanging out at “home.”
- On campus adventures-- pictures of club and extracurricular related activities.
- Off campus adventures-- pictures of student road-trips, fall/spring break excursions, weekend getaways, etc.
- Study Abroad-- pictures that show Linfield students in their study abroad locations.
Photos will be judged for their originality, creativity, and general awesomeness in relation to the category in which it is submitted.
*Bonus points for:
- More than one Linfield student featured
- Students wearing Linfield gear
ALL CDs AND ENTRY FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN BY FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2008 AT THE OFFICE OF ADMISSION (Michelbook House) OR VIA CAMPUS MAIL (Unit A448).
How it works:
1. Each contestant may submit as many photos as they would like, however they will only be allowed to win one prize per category. Please note that none of the photo CDs will be returned.
2. A completed entry consists of the following materials:
- A CD
- Entry form, pickup at the Office of Admission.
3. The entry form can be completed in a digital format (i.e. Word document) and included on the CD, but must include the following information:
- Your name, unit box, phone #, and e-mail address
- The title, location, approximate date, names of all persons featured in the photo, and the category, of each photo.
4. All CD’s submitted in a sleeve and labeled with the following information:
- Your name, phone, e-mail
- The categories in which you wish to have each photo judged
5. The file name for each photo should include the following information:
- Title of the photo
- Your name
- Approximate date (year if that’s all you have) of the shot
Example: “TheWildcat-AaronLarsen-2008.jpg”
- Files should be separated by folders titled after the category in which they wish the photo should be judged.
Example: You may find “TheWildcat-AaronLarsen-2008.jpg” in the “Activity” folder.
6. The photos will be judged by The Office of Admission.
7. The top three photos in each category will be chosen and winners will receive gift certificates of the following amounts:
- 1st Place-- $35
- 2nd Place-- $25
- 3rd Place-- $10
8. By entering into the contest, you are giving the Office of Admission and Linfield College permission to uses your photo(s) for advertising purposes even if your photo is not a contest winner.
9. The deadline for entry is May 16, 2008.
