Matthew Hodges, Assistant Director of Admission and International Recruitment
Counselor for freshmen from Oregon (Multnomah and Clackamas counties, except Lake Oswego and West Linn-Wilsonville school districts), degree-seeking freshmen and transfer international students, Americans abroad and spring freshmen
Additional Responsibilities: Coordinates international and American abroad recruitment, assists with transfer student recruitment, manages alumni and parent volunteer assistance, helps with multicultural student outreach
Favorite part of McMinnville: The wide range of food options on Third Street. On one street you can find Thai, Italian, Mexican, Peruvian, and Spanish food. All of these restaurants are within walking distance of Linfield’s campus.
Favorite Spot to go when I need some stress release: The Oregon coast. The Pacific Ocean is about one hour away from Linfield. It has a number of great beaches and lots of breathtaking scenery to enjoy.
Why Linfield: As a graduate of Linfield I can personally attest that it changed my life in so many ways. I would not be working for Linfield if I didn’t believe in the power of a small college. The education transforms students into tomorrow’s leaders. The opportunities and skills that Linfield provides for its students go behind the classroom.
Favorite sport to watch: Linfield College Football. It is great to see the large number of students, alumni, staff and community members who come out every Saturday in the fall to show their support for the Wildcats. It also brings me joy to know that the players on the field are truly student-athletes. There is a reason why we have the national record for the number of consecutive winning seasons! #catdome
