Linfield College is a residential college, with over 70 percent of our students living on campus in college housing. Living on campus is the best way to get involved in college life. That's why we require all students to live on campus through their third year.
Students with less than two years of college coursework completed are likely to be placed in a residence hall with students of similar age and experience. The Office of Admission and Director of Residence Life will work to ensure a positive living environment and a roommate who matches the student's level of college experience and general interests and habits. Students living in residence halls also have a full meal plan for on-campus dining.
Students with at least two years or more of college coursework completed may be eligible to live in on-campus apartments. On-campus apartment living is compared to living off-campus, only more convenient. Rent, utilities, and laundry are included in your housing cost, paid at the beginning of every semester and students are a short walk from classes and other campus activities.
Fourth-year students are welcome to live in an on-campus apartment or find off-campus housing. Students who are eligible to live off campus must complete the off-campus housing exemption form and be approved by the Director of Residence Life. Housing exemptions were only granted to married students, students with children, those 21 years of age or older and those living with parents or legal guardians within 20 miles of the main campus in McMinnville.
