- Married

Roommate Assignments
Room assignments made by the Offices of Admission and Residence Life. Information you provide on the Housing Preference form is used to make housing assignments. Every effort is made to match you with someone who appears to have similar interests and study habits. Please take the time to fill out your housing preference form accurately and honestly.
You may room with someone you know, but first consider living with someone you don’t know. Meeting new people is an important aspect of college life. If you choose to live with a friend, you must both request each other as roommates on the Housing Preference form.
Important information for students under the age of 17: Housing options for students under the age of 17 requires special consideration. These students and their parent or guardian must schedule an appointment with Director of Residence Life to discuss their campus living options. Please contact the Office of Student Services at 503.883.2278.
Housing costs will be set based on your room assignment.

Does Anyone Have Questions?
When will I found out about my housing assignment?
You'll be notified of your housing assignment and roommate in late July via postal mail.
Do I have to be on the meal plan?
All students living in the residence halls are required to enroll in a meal plan. All new students will automatically be enrolled in the standard meal plan.
What will be in my room?
Each resident will be provided a standard size twin bed, closet, dresser, desk and desk chair in their room. Depending on the room, you might share one large closet with your roommate or you may each have one of your own. All rooms are connected to the campus phone, voicemail and wireless internet. Each room has a expanded basic cable, smoke detector and venetian blinds.
Who cleans my room?
You do! You may check out a vacuum cleaner from your RA (resident advisor). All public areas in the residence halls (hallways, foyer) and restrooms are cleaned regularly.
Where do I do my laundry?
Every residence hall has washers and dryers available for student use. Laundry is free at Linfield!
Just how “coed” are the “coed” halls?
Men and women live on separate floors or in separate wings in coed halls. There are bathrooms on each floor, used by the residents. (Exception: because the rooms in Newby Hall have a private bathroom, the floors are coed.) The college has established times when men and women may visit each other’s rooms and floors. These hours are:
10:00 am until midnight Sunday – Thursday
10:00 am until 2 am Friday – Saturday
Escorted guests may be in the lounges at any time of day in those halls that elect to extend this option.
Is campus safety available?
Linfield's campus is patrolled 24 hours a day by Linfield Campus Safety. The Campus Safety Staff can be contacted by telephone at 503.883.7233. There are also blue light emergency phones located throughout campus which connect directly to Campus Safety.
Students are provided with a key to their room, and student identification cards will open all residence hall doors for Linfield students 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. daily. Only students living in a hall will have daily 24-hour access. Linfield policy requires students to carry their identification card with them at all time when on campus.
