STEP 3: Campus Security

Events expecting 100 attendees or more, all events held on Keck Campus, and any late night events are required to have additional hired security officers for the safety of the students and the liability of the College. Other events may require additional security as deemed necessary by the Office of College Activities. Please Contact Mac security (530) 835-6051 to hire security. If you have questions about your event and if it needs security, please contact the Office of College Activities.

Step 5: Publicity

  • Campus publicity is available through ASLC Spotlight Publicity for any campus event. The publicity is free for ASLC clubs and organizations while there is a small supplies fee for other College departments and organizations. Publicity request forms are available on the bookshelf outside the ASLC Office on 3rd floor of Riley and in the CIC. All publicity must adhere to the following policies and guidelines:
  • Any recognized club, organization, or department associated with Linfield may publicize events on campus
  • All publicity must clearly state the sponsoring organization, if it is unclear the publicity will be removed from the posting
  • Please post flyers only on designated and labeled bulletin boards. Any publicity posted on walls, doors, windows, and mirrors are a fire hazard and will be removed
  • For sanitary reasons no flyers are allowed to be posted in the residence hall bathrooms and can only be posted in other bathrooms on campus with special permission from the Cleaning Services Manager at the Physical Plant
  • The use of sidewalk chalk is limited to twice a year per club or organization. It must first be pre-approved by the Director of College Activities and must state the sponsoring organization in the publicity. All chalk advertising must be removed, by the sponsoring organization, within 24 hours of the event

Campus Policies and Regulations

  • Neither alcohol nor drugs are permitted at student sponsored events.
  • Fundraising and sales must first be approved by the Dean of Students (through the Director of College Activities). Only recognized campus organizations and departments can raise funds to benefit their organization or for charity events. Individual entrepreneurial sales by any group or individual on campus are not permitted.
  • Security: The College reserves the right to require additional security to be hired for student safety at any event approved and hosted on campus at the discretion of the Director of College Activities. Events expecting 100 attendees or more, all events held on Keck Campus, and any late night events are required to have additional hired security officers for the safety of the students and the liability of the College. Officers must be on site one hour before the scheduled start time and are to remain at the event for one hour after the scheduled end time. The student organizers and/or the sponsoring organization(s) are responsible for hiring and paying for the security officers.

Linfield College reserves the right to refuse sponsorship of any event that does not coincide with the mission of the College.
