I'm Bob Lunt and I was uh class of 1952. Oh when I first came I had the romantic idea I was going to be an anthropologist but ah, I uh, woke up fairly soon and went to business. And so, I was a business major and graduated in uh with Professor Elkington. Well, probably with a lot of us in that era I'd, you know, uh, Dr. Elkington was certainly one of them and uh, Dr. Terrell who was uh, ah Literature ah, made and fantastic guy made, you know, people who had never knew what a book was made you just love to read and ah. So I, uh, taught me to read and I, you know, I still read a lot of books now. Uh, that was, uh Literature either both World and American Lit. He was a very, we didn't have that many kids but he'd still have 80 or 90 in a class, you know, which is pretty unusual (chuckle) here. Well, I guess I guess, ah some things in ah uh Dr. Elkington's class, uh, you probably heard this before but he was uh, he was uh, a one of a kind sort of a guy and uh ah, he spoke (in grunty voice) you know kinda, mm (cough) this way, you know, and he'd he uh told everything you know about his home life, his personal life, and and, uh everything was budgeted being a business prof you know he budgeted everything. Uh from uh, you know and a very strict budget you know and uh what his wife could spend for groceries and and he says, he says, well "we even budget our sex life" you know so (laugh) you can imagine a prof, you know, talking about this. But ah, he was most unforgettable and I remember uh, one time he was late and uh, so uh, we were all standing outside, and uh, one of the guys whipped out a note and put it on the door that says, uh "No class today" andwe.. all disappeared and he arrived, ah, and never forgot that. He he ah, for the next year or more I think he'd he'd interrogated and and worked everybody (chuckle) over. I don't as far as I know he never found out who put the note up there but uh, ahyou didn't mess with Elkie too much but he was a wonderful person and uh umthere was some great stories about him uh..ah..and he was you know very bold and he was very vain also.
