I'm Mary Lee Howard. I went from 1953 to 1957. I graduated in four years.
Professor Elkington was the best. He had an ability to instruct with utter enthusiasm, humor and encouragement. In terms of being at Linfield I just said living and learning in a loving environment that encouraged the beginning of a life to be completely realized, the joy of meeting and experiencing many new situations and developing friendships, and to me that's what life is all about. When we were graduating, ah, what we thought we would be doing. We arrived in September 1953 and commenced in 1957. Not to the end but to the beginning of another threshold so here we are. I just said becoming involved and working in activities allowed much interaction wherever one finds themself. I have a message board that says it well: "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proclaiming, wow what a ride! So be it!" Mary Lee Good Howard. Ha ha ha ha.
