I'm Marilyn Stow Crouser, I graduated in 1958, came back again in '60 and got a masters in education.

I will tell you an embarrassing story, I was run, I was running for student body secretary and I don't know, you know in some ways everybody assumed you know, oh, she knows ev, all these things you know. But, sometimes you know there things that go right past you, and so I was giving a speech, to get elected. And we used to have to give the speeches at the chapel I don't know where your student body people if they give uh speeches or anything now, but and I had this great campaign cause I had "Check Stowe", that was my maiden name. And somebody made me a whole bunch of check things and they were everywhere, in all the restrooms, all over everywhere and then my roommate was a home ec major and she made all these cookies and they stood around and handed out cookies with check marks on 'em you know. So when I was giving my speech ha-ha I, uh, see I I don't like to say this, but I was not, I thought I was very prim and proper person, but I was not understood to be very prim and proper person, so when I gave the speech I was saying you know I would do this do this and the last line, somebody else had written this for me, uh said, "and I have had experience", and the entire place just erupted and it finally dawned on me what I was saying, it was very embarrassing, but I did get elected. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
