About Our Alumni

Linfield alumni can be found around the world. They are teachers, nurses, doctors, CEOs, accountants, ministers, musicians, scientists, writers, editors, actors, designers and artists. They can be found in local and state government and serving as attorneys and judges. They work in the non-profit sector, volunteer in their local communities and for projects around the country and the world.
Those who chose to purse graduate work are accepted into prestigious programs around the country, based on their collaborative research and experiential learning experiences at Linfield.
Since 1999, 15 Linfield graduates have received Fulbright awards to study, research and teach around the world. Five students have received French Government Teaching Awards since 1999.

  • Susan Hyde '00, assistant professor of political science at Yale University, where she is affiliated with the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies and the Institution for Social and Policy Studies.
  • Magaly Garcia '00 works for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.
  • Eduardo Angulo ’00, executive director of the Salem Keizer Coalition for Equality, an organization that works to close educational gaps between white students and students of color.
  • Scott Brosius '02, 1998 World Series MVP for the New York Yankees
  • Trent Davis '90, CEO Paulson Investment
  • Theresa Stichick Betancourt '91, assistant professor of child health and human rights at the Harvard School of Public Health.
  • Dr. Peter C. Schalock '96, is an instructor in dermatology at Harvard Medical School.
  • Peter Fisher '96, co-founder of AndersonFisher LLC, a third party investment and 401(k) consulting firm
  • Randall T. Mueller ’83, general manager, Miami Dolphins

  • Peter M. Stroeve ’85, president of Net Objectives Consulting (Technology Consulting Division of Net Objectives).
  • Patricia Moss '85 president and CEO Bank of the Cascades.
  • Richard H. Wills ’88, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Tektronix, Inc.
  • José Gaitán ’73, owner and managing member of the Gaitán Group, a law firm that solves legal problems for industry leaders and state and local governments. Gaitán was one of five people featured on the cover and inside the October 1991 issue of Money Magazine, which focused on “How You Can Live Better.”
  • Patty Bogle ‘73, founder of Bogle Winery. She was recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal and in the State of California Legislature as 2000 Woman of the Year.
  • Nancy (Rollins) Gantz '73, chief nurse executive and part of the commissioning team for the ARAMED Medical Centre in Nigeria, Africa. She previously opened a children's cancer hospital in the Middle East.
  • Patricia (Brown) Lancaster ’75, commissioner of the New York City Department of Buildings.
  • Dick Hughes '75, editorial page editor of the Salem Statesman-Journal, a Gannett owned newspaper
  • Dr. Thomas H. Tarter '77, Md, PhD, associate professor, Division of Urology, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
  • Phillip J. Bond ’78, president and CEO, Information Technology Association.
  • John R. Tomlinson, Jr. ’79, attorney, Partner, Barokas, Martin & Tomlinson, and widely recognized as a preeminent litigator and he is called upon to try cases in various courts throughout the country and was named a Washington Super Lawyer for 2004.
  • Roger H. Eigsti ’64, retired chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president of Safeco Corporation.
  • Harold Boyanovsky '66 of Lake Forest, Ill., president and CEO of CNH Global and president of New Holland Agricultural Equipment.
  • Dr. John C. Frazee ’67, clinical professor of neurosurgery, University of California Medical Center.
  • Sandra Thompson '68 Los Angeles Superior Court Judge.
  • Penelope A. “Penny” Hazelton ’69, associate dean for library and computing services, professor of law, University of Washington School of Law
  • John Paul Creasman '59, assistant professor of ophthalmology and department chair at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He has spent more than three decades performing humanitarian work and teaching health education around the world.
  • Robert Utter '52, retired Washington Supreme Court justice and volunteer for the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative.
